Composite models use mesh objects, solid objects, and surface objects in the same drawing
- A mesh object should be used for sculpted shapes
- A solid object should be used for more primitive shapes and features that require dimensional accuracy
- A surface model combined with the Thicken command should be used to model formed sheet metal or shell type molded plastic parts
1. Mesh Modeling > Primitives > Surface Modeling
2. Creating formed sheet metal parts
3. Home > Modeling > Solid Modeling
4. Creating precise components
5. Mesh Modeling > Modeling
Use mesh commands to create mesh objects
6. Creating sculpted shapes
7. Mesh Modeling > Convert Mesh
Select a conversion setting
8. Mesh Modeling > Convert Mesh > Convert to Surface
9. The appearance of the object will change
Complete mesh modeling before converting to a surface
10. The completed composite model
